Changing Permissions for a User

This article will show you how to change permissions for a user in Kafka.

1. Locate your target deployment

Log in to the Control Panel and locate your target deployment on the Home page or the My Applications page.

2.Go to the “Topic & User” page

You can go to the Topic & User page by clicking the "Manage" button on the Home page or the My Applications page.

3 . Change permissions for users

Add/remove accessible topics

Go to the Users section and click the user you’d like to change permissions for. You’ll be taken to the User Details page.

This page lists all the accessible topics for the user.

Delete Accessible Topics: Click the three-dot icon at the end of a topic, followed by clicking the Delete button.

Add Accessible Topics: Click the "Add New Accessible Topic" button and select more topics.

Update operation permission to topics

Click the three-dot icon at the end of a topic, followed by the "Update" button. You can change the permission to Produce, or Consume, or Produce + Consume.
